Ovarian Cysts Treatment Revealed
Filed Under Women's Health | Leave a Comment
The most common type of ovarian cyst that can form is called a functional cyst, which often forms during the normal menstrual cycle.
The way that ovarian cysts are treated is typically dependent on whether or not the patient has reached menopause or has moved beyond. Treating ovarian cysts will also be a matter of the type of symptoms that are detected and the pain that the patient may be in. The various cyst types are also a key factor to determine how it will be treated.
Women in pre-menopausal condition
For women before the menopause, surgery would not be the first choice in terms of treatment. Cysts sometimes can and do disappear of their own accord after a space of one or two months, without any external intervention. For this reason if a cyst looks to be benign when examined by a sonogram and does not cause discomfort to the patient then it is managed by observation for about two months. If the cysts has still not vanished after treatment and is also causing severe pain to the patient then surgery will be required. In a few cases the ovary may even twist around inside the body because of the cyst, which then interferes with the supply of blood or can cause the rupture of the cyst within the ovary. These cases are emergency medical cases that typically necessitate immediate surgical intervention.
Fundamental surgery as a solution for ovarian cysts
The first surgery to be done on an ovarian cyst might be to remove it and to drain the cyst or it might be to remove the whole of the ovary. If your age and the kind of cyst that you have mean that you are at risk of ovarian cancer, the doctor may recommend the removal of the whole ovary. If the doctor suspects cancer, then it is vital that the cyst does not rupture so as to stop potentially malignant cells from going into the abdomen. In this instance and so that ovarian cancer can be avoided, the doctor may recommend the removal of the entire ovary. Sometimes a cyst may be very large but can be removed leaving the flesh around to recuperate with minimal additional surgery. This said, the environment of the ovary may be destroyed by very big cyst, which means that the whole organ would need to be removed.
What is the result on a woman of removal of an ovary
If it is a matter of the size of your cyst then only a single ovary would be taken out. There is no significant effect on your fertility if you have not reached menopause because one ovary can produce enough eggs and hormones to induce pregnancy. However if cancer is suspected then both ovaries may be taken out. Any surgery done to handle an ovarian cyst will often be for both ovaries in the case of women after menopause. Because the ovaries no longer generate estrogen or progesterone in women after menopause, removal of both has little consequence on the well being of women. Some women after menopause have indicated a loss of sexual desire or libido after the removal of ovaries. This can typically be countered with a treatment of small doses of testosterone.
Upon discovering any cancerous cells, the doctor may then recommend that both ovaries be removed. Of course, this possibility is discussed with the patient before starting surgery by the doctor. A quick test for women before menopause is done for cancer cells on the ovary to be removed.
Surgery with the use of Laparoscopy
Cystectomy is the name for the operation to take out a cyst from an ovary. A cyst is similar to a small liquid-filled container. A cyst is typically opened with a laparoscopic instrument to then aspirate the liquid before carefully removing the cyst itself. The patient can leave the hospital within 24 hours and is typically able to resume professional activity after fourteen days of rest. Treating ovarian cysts involves surgery done by laparoscopy. The surgery is accomplished by using a laparoscope, an instrument with a camera which is put into the abdomen by making tiny incisions at the pelvic bone. By doing surgery in this manner, patient recovery is faster and there are many less signs of surgery on the skin of the patient.
Surgeons are careful to preserve the eggs that are healthy by leaving as much healthy ovarian tissue as possible during surgery. Although one treatment for ovarian cysts, surgery such as this is not without risk. In some instances, if the cyst is too big, the ovary must be removed which means that there is destruction of all normal ovarian tissue. However with the use of a holistic program to tackle the underlying reason for ovarian cysts, you can get an effective treatment without secondary effects.

The skin’s loses its elastin and collagen fibers, which serve as the backbone for the skin’s surface layers. Smoking also reduces the level of estrogen in women and this causes dryness and premature wrinkles. Smoking attacks the skin’s ability to battle the deadly free-radicals in tobacco smoke.

Permanent Yeast Infection Cure
If you suffer from yeast infections you are not alone. It is reported that 75% of women get yeast infections at some point in their lives. In spite of this many people are still reluctant to seek medical advice and resort to using over the counter creams. The problem is that these remedies only treat the symptoms and not the root cause. In the past few years many people have been looking to natural and holistic cures to tackle the cause of the problems.
Yeast infections are also referred to as Candida and have been caused by groups of microscopic fungi or yeast attacking the body. Currently there are 20 different forms of yeast infection a woman can suffer from the most common being Candida Albicans. However it is important to note that this fungi actually lives on all our bodies and can be found on men as well as women.
What is important to remember is that no one is actually immune from this particular type of infection and it can cause irritation both in young and old alike. However the most common types that you will often hear about are vaginal yeast infection, along with diaper/nappy rash, thrush and the forms of yeast infection that affect a person’s skin or nails.
The most likely places a person will often find that they suffer from a yeast infection is an area of the body which is damp and warm, say the underarms for example. However in most cases our skin is able to prevent this particular organism from obtaining access to these areas and this will in turn prevent it from growing. If however a person has some damage to the skin then this provides the yeast a chance to penetrate through to the area in question and so allow it to start growing.
Certainly for children the areas where they are most likely to be prone to suffering from some form of yeast infection is around the mouth as well as the diaper area. Although adults may suffer from yeast infections of the mouth they are much more susceptible to this kind of infection as they grow older especially if they wear dentures. But a lot of the yeast infections that adults and babies suffer from are very superficial and can be easily treated.
It is important to note however that in some cases this particular form of infection can affect the whole body and the success rate for treating such infections is greatly reduced. In fact 3 in 4 people who suffer from this particular form of infection are unlikely to find an suitable treatment and will die. Therefore it is important that if you find yourself suffering from any form of yeast infection you arrange to have it treated before it has chance to multiply and so it will be much more difficult to treat.
One of the biggest problems faced by women, men and children when they suffer from yeast infection is not knowing what actually caused it in the first place. There are occasions when a person may well suffer from this form of infection because they have been required to take some form of antibiotic and so their immune system has become comprised. As soon as the immune system has become comprised the yeast fungi will then have the chance to multiply without any of the bodies natural defenses (antibodies) available to prevent it.
There however have been recent developments in the ways in yeast infections can be treated using more natural and holistic cures being made available. But the great thing about these kinds of cures for yeast infections is that they treat the root cause and will help to prevent it from occurring in the first place. There are a number of products that are now available such as “Yeast Infection Away” and “Yeast Infection No More“. “Yeast Infection Away” claims that it is able to treat and cure yeast infections in 12 hours, whilst “Yeast Infection No More” which offers a more holistic approach will seek to remove the threat of Candida permanently. If you would like to learn a little more of what these two products have to offer then please check out our review section by going to the links below.
Bacteria Vaginosis
Filed Under Bacterial Vaginosis | Leave a Comment
Vaginosis, better known as bacterial vaginosis, is caused by changes in the kinds of bacteria living in a woman’s vagina. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) was formerly known as Gardnerella vaginitis but is rarely called that anymore. To get more knowledge and help in getting rid of BV, please find my link at the end of this article.
Bacteria vaginosis (BV) is one of the most common vaginal infections among pregnant women who need to be specially aware. With bacterial vaginosis occurring among pregnant women between 10-20% of the time. There is a strong link between BV and preterm delivery and between BV and early spontaneous miscarriage prior to 16 weeks gestation.
One way that women can start an imbalance is by using a douche. It is thought that over douching can lead to BV.
Sometimes there is a fishy odor often associated with bacterial vaginosis caused by certain bacteria. Many women find that after intercourse the odor is more pronounced.
Nearly half of all women with BV don’t notice any symptoms such as foul odor, itchiness, unusual discharge or burning sensations around the vaginal region. These general symptoms are obviously easily confused with something like a yeast infection.
Bacteria vaginosis isn’t some disease you catch from someone else, even though it is more common in women who are sexually active, it also occurs in women who are not sexually active.
Bacterial vaginosis can increase the risk of getting PID or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease after a surgical procedure, such as a hysterectomy or an abortion or even just in general. Sometimes treatment methods such as using a douche can push the infection deeper into the body triggering PID.
You can also run the higher risk of getting an STD or sexually transmitted disease more easily after having had BV. STD such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and HIV become more likely to gain a foothold within the body for unknown reasons.
One of biggest draw-backs to many diets is the “forbidden” foods list. It is human nature to desire the things we know we can’t have, and this seems to magnify when you’re on a diet. Dieting is difficult enough without the disappointment of having to eat foods you don’t like.
You will be pleased to learn that this is something that cannot be said about the South Beach Diet. If the question of what you can eat on this diet arises, it would be far quicker to tell you what you cannot eat!
You can still eat the foods you love when you are on the South Beach Diet. The only difference with the South Beach Diet is that you are eating them in a way that is better for you. Let’s say you’re a meat lover. On the South Beach Diet menu, you can still enjoy a delicious steak, just make it a leaner cut and don’t totally pig out.
Phase 1 is the most restrictive part of the South Beach Diet, but the list of foods you can eat during this two-week period is unexpectedly diverse. In fact, Phase 1 allows many foods you would never expect to eat while on a diet.
Even though Phase 1 has the most limited food list on the South Beach Diet, you are still able to enjoy some of your favorites. It’s ok to eat beef, pork, poultry, eggs, low-fat lunch meat and low-fat or fat-free cheese, as long as you stay away from anything too fatty or greasy. Seafood is not only allowed, it is encouraged throughout the entire South Beach Diet program. You can even eat sweets while on the South Beach Diet, just keep your daily intake below 75 calories.
Many people who do their own cooking are often unsure about appropriate ingredients when adapting their usual recipes. At the start of the South Beach Diet, you are restricted to canola and olive oils and non or low fat milk and yogurt but these bans are lifted as soon as you have made your way past phase 1 and home-cooking becomes far easier and much more straightforward.
Fruits, normal dairy products and grains are re-introduced to your choice of foods during Phase 2 of the diet but you will find your cravings for these are not nearly as strong as previously. By eating food which your body can break down easily your weight will continue to drop, until you have reached your goal.
The most important question to ask when you are choosing a diet program is, “What will I be able to eat?” You will be more than pleased with the answer to this question on the South Beach Diet. And the weight loss that comes with it won’t be so bad either.
